Portland Parks should be the gem of our community. It’s time to get serious about cleanliness and maintenance and to make our parks a place families can gather once again. District 4 parks are suffering and we need to demand that Parks remain open, safe, and clean.

  • Permanent assignment of maintenance staff, creating a staff ownership culture and successful upkeep metric for parks.
  • Return parks to recreational, natural, and community gathering spaces for families and friends.
  • Increase patrols, lighting, and cleaning.
  • Open all closed park restrooms and assign maintenance staff.
  • Remove portable toilets in public spaces when permanent restrooms exist and not specifically for event needs.
  • Ensure every public-school student can afford or is sponsored for school-based sports and activities.
